Apex-Brasil works specifically to defend the interests of national companies in the European Union and the United States, which, besides being big investors in the country, represent important markets for Brazilian products and services.
The actions involve monitoring proposals that could have a negative or positive impact on the exportation of Brazilian products and services, as well as attracting investments to Brazil; putting forth a positive image of the products and services, of the environment and of the opportunities offered by the country; and establishing and expanding the relationship networks and strategic contacts, in an attempt to stimulate the competitiveness of Brazilian companies, while promoting the internationalization of their businesses and attracting direct foreign investments.
In Europe, these activities are handled by Brazilian Business Affairs (BBA), which is Apex-Brasil’s office in Brussels, Belgium. In order to follow up on initiatives involving the North American market, the Agency affiliated itself, this year, with the nonprofit Brazil Industries Coalition (BIC), which was founded in 2000 to represent Brazil’s private sector in Washington, D.C.
