The events circuit starts next Monday, April 15, as part of Milan Design Week
Another edition of the renowned Milan Design Week is about to begin and Brazil is ready to show its creative, sustainable, and innovative power there. The Brazilian Furniture Project is taking a significant delegation of Brazilian companies and designers to Italy with the support of ABIMÓVEL (Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
The biggest event on the program, eight companies will be exhibiting their collections in exclusive booths in halls 03, 10 and 18 of Salone del Mobile.Milano 2024, while another 22 brands and more than 40 national designers will be taking part in the “Design + Industry” exhibition in hall 03, presenting first-hand 41 new pieces developed through the project, which is part of the scope of the Brazilian Furniture Project. The “Brazil Lounge”, also located in hall 03, will be a meeting space designed to promote interaction and integration between exhibitors, visitors, and the global media.
In addition to iSaloni, the project also collaborates with exclusive actions on the FuoriSalone circuit, which takes place in and around Milan’s design districts.
Coccoloba – Brazilian Exhibition
A highlight is the “Coccoloba – Brazilian Exhibition,” organized by ApexBrasil with ABIMÓVEL’s support, and curated by Bruno Simões. The exhibition will run from April 15th to 28th, 2024, as part of the INTERNI “Cross Vision” program, the largest exhibition in the FuoriSalone circuit, held at the prestigious Università degli Studi di Milano, a global stage for design and innovation.
Inspired by the Coccoloba gigantifolia, a fascinating tree species discovered in the Brazilian Amazon forest, known for its large leaves measuring up to 2.50 m in length and 1.44 m in width, and featured in the popular Guinness World Records book, the Brazilian exhibition’s concept celebrates the grandeur and beauty of the Coccoloba. It also re?ects on how it adapts and thrives under adverse conditions, serving as a powerful metaphor for Brazilian design as a manifesto of innovation, sustainability, and resilience.
By bringing together the work of 53 national companies and designers at one of Milan Design Week’s main spotlights, this action helps to expand the narrative on Brazil’s potential to in?uence the future of design with creative and sustainable solutions, harmonizing culture, nature, industry, and technology.
Ornare in Milan
The Milan Design Week is also the ideal opportunity for brands to reveal their new projects to the international community, with various activities, including the launch of new showrooms opening their doors across the city’s design districts. In 2024, one of the major brands inviting the public to dive into the universe of high-end furniture is Ornare, a company originally from Brazil that arrives in Milan inaugurating its ?rst ?agship store in Europe, with 450m² in the impressive 18th-century setting of the Gallarati Palace, at the heart of the “Quadrilatero della Moda,” following the concept of its units already established in the United States, Brazil, and the United Arab Emirates.
Another important milestone in the internationalization of Brazilian brands, supported by the Brazilian Furniture Project, an initiative by ABIMÓVEL in partnership with ApexBrasil that takes Brazilian furniture to the world.
