Through the Brazilian Furniture Project, an initiative developed by ABIMÓVEL (Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), 26 Brazilian companies took part in yet another IMM Cologne Trade Mission, with 13 of them exhibiting their products at exclusive booths and all of them taking part in business rounds with buyers from various countries in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
The event took place between January 14 and 18 in the city of Cologne, Germany, bringing together around 750 exhibitors from 42 different countries, as well as approximately 42,000 visitors from 129 nations, with the integration of communities as the central theme of this edition.
The outlook was positive for Brazilian companies, which not only managed to highlight their brands on the global stage, but also had the chance to network and to close a significant amount of business deals. See details below.

The 13 Brazilian brands exhibiting at IMM 2024 were able to present their latest furniture and living solutions to qualified visitors from all over the world, generating 648 different business contacts and more than US$ 21.39 million in immediate and prospective business for the next 12 months.

The business roundtables organized through the Trade Mission culminated in 214 contacts and more than US$ 13.69 million in business expectations between closed and projected sales.

In total, the actions amounted to more than US$ 35.08 million in immediate and projected deals for the following 12 months with 862 contacts, more than 86% of which were new business contacts for Brazilian companies.
“This result reflects the demand for products that combine technology, sustainable production cycles, design integrated into the industry and creative authenticity. These are hallmarks of Brazilian furniture, emphasizing Brazil’s recognition and growing influence in the international furniture market,” notes ABIMÓVEL’s executive director, Cândida Cervieri.
With a focus on providing opportunities to expand the participation of the Brazilian furniture industry in the international market, increasing the visibility and reach of brands and products made in Brazil, the organizers of the Brazilian Furniture Project expect to be back in Germany for the next edition of IMM, which has already been confirmed: January 12-16, 2025.
