Brazil took part for the eighth time of this, one of the most important interior decoration trade shows in the world
By presenting a portfolio that included living room and bedroom furniture, kitchen furnishings, and decorative items, four companies from the furniture industry—Finestra, Colibri, Unicasa, and D'Itália, and two for decoration - MZ Artes and Cristais São Marcos—participated September 25 - 27 in Index Dubai, the biggest furniture and decoration trade fair in the Middle East.
In an area totaling 34,000 m², the show brought together some 900 exhibitors and received over 23,000 visitors. “This was the eighth time we attended Index Dubai. We consider this to be the ideal platform for establishing the presence of Brazilian furniture in the region, which is one of the main target markets of our companies,” says João Araújo Pinto Neto, Manager of Brazilian Furniture.
According to data from the most recent survey made by the commercial intelligence area of Brazilian Furniture, furniture sales to the Arab Emirates grew 12.4% from January to October of 2012, compared with the same period in 2011, from US$ 678,000 to US$ 762,000.
In three days, Brazilian business people made 824 contacts with potential partners from the United Arab Emirates, Oman, India, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait, and returned home with contracts signed in the amount of US$ 570,000.00. “Over the next twelve months, we expect to have more than US$ 3.3 million in exports for the companies taking part in the Project,” João Araújo added.
Brazilian Furniture is already signed up for Index Dubai 2013, whose dates have been moved up to May 20 - 23. Companies interested in being a part of the Brazilian trade mission may request additional information by e-mail, at: info@brazilianfurniture.org.br
