Entering a new cycle, the project features strategic initiatives in dozens of countries

On December 20, 2024, ABIMÓVEL (Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) officially renewed the Brazilian Furniture Project for another cycle. Aimed at expanding exports of products and services—while promoting the international growth of furniture brands, components, and suppliers—the project currently includes 175 companies and continues to grow.

During the previous two-year period (2023–2024), the initiative generated about US$367 million in closed and prospective deals through 4,118 rounds of negotiations with international buyers, as well as participation in major trade shows worldwide.

Over the same period, companies involved in the project achieved an +8.2% increase in their international positioning—exceeding the national average of +3.2% and distancing themselves from the global drop of -3.73% projected for the sector. Learn more about the results and market analysis here.

According to ABIMÓVEL’s Executive Director, Cândida Cervieri, the project plays a vital role in strengthening the organization’s mission to lead, integrate, represent, and develop Brazil’s wood and furniture production chain: “The Brazilian Furniture Project is essential for increasing competitiveness, championing sustainability and signature design, and boosting the global reputation of Brazilian furniture. It allows our furniture manufacturers, component producers, and other suppliers to carve out a growing share of the global market.”

International Business Analyst and responsible for the project at ApexBrasil, Clarissa Franco, adds: “Through a synergy of actions, market intelligence, and participation in top industry events, we’re creating real business opportunities and building up the reputation of Brazilian industry and design.”

Next Steps

The new 2025–2026 cycle features a strategic schedule of events, including trade show appearances, trade missions, and further initiatives—ranging from sector intelligence and sustainability to integrated design—taking place both in Brazil and in multiple markets across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East. This approach will help bolster the sector’s presence in established target markets and economies on the rise.

“We expect that throughout this period, Brazilian Furniture will continue to drive export growth and consolidate the ‘Brazil’ brand abroad,” concludes Cândida, ABIMÓVEL’s Executive Director.
